Stone Walls

For some reason, after reading some commentary elsewhere, I thought of these lines:

Stone walls do not a prison make,
Nor iron bars a cage:
Minds innocent and quiet take
That for an hermitage.
If I have freedom in my love,
And in my soul am free,
Angels alone, that soar above,
Enjoy such liberty.

(Richard Lovelace: "To Althea from Prison" - 1648)

That's beautiful, Internet Ronin.

Are you OK? It got awfully nasty over there.

Hi, trinity! It is a beautiful poem, isn't it? Yes, I'm fine. Thanks for asking. I think I actually have a tougher time dealing with the DTL's of the world than the cedarfords ;-).

Ronin, based on your performance in other battles, you're more than equal to dealing with both DTL and Cedarford.

I appreciate your confidence, tjl, and wrote a reply to you yesterday but couldn't get it to publish. It appears that the google-gods are fooling around with their not-ready-for-prime-time beta version (which I unwittingly upgraded to). and I have been locked out of comments here and at Althouse. Perhaps it is some kind of "double secret probation." ;-) Thanks for looking in.

DTL probably engineered this through his stock holdings in Google.

What a pain, the hoops through which you're having to jump with blogger!

Glad to see that you're able to comment again on blogger sites.
