Well, it is, sort of. It combines various aspects of '57,'58, and '59 Chevys - thus the moniker "789."
As each is hand-built and guaranteed to be "one of a kind" as far as color goes, the high price is to be expected, I guess. Too bad. I'd like one. And you have to admit it would be fun cruising South Beach in one as well ;-)
You're right Ron. A '57 Bel Air hood and grill, '58 Impala-style mid section and interior, finished off with the '59 Impala "bird in flight" tailfins. You probably are not old enough to remember the Matchbox '59 Impala. I do. (Cursor down to No. 57 on the page.)
I had two of these as a kid - one got crushed somehow. The other is still around in a box of toys at my mom's but pretty beat up. My dad drove a '58 Impala. All of us wanted a '57 Bel Air, of course ;-)

Yeah!
I guess it costs about $135,000. About the same as the now discontinued high-end BMW roadster. This would be far more fun, I think.
Whoa! Seriously?? I could've sworn it was a vintage car.
Guys would lap this up, if not for the outrageous sticker price...
Oh well, another car for Shaq, Diddy-n-them.
Cheers,
Victoria
Looks like a '57 hood on a '59 or '60 body, yes?
