Ruby Ridge

Quick! Who was President during the siege at Ruby Ridge?

That's right! George Herbert Walker Bush was President of the United States of America when the events leading to the 10-day siege at Ruby Ridge began on August 21, 1992. William P. Barr was the Attorney General of the United States at the time. Almost everyone I have observed mentioning this incident, on-line or in person, blames Janet Reno and Bill Clinton.

But that's amazing that it's been pinned on Clinton.

Yes, it is, isn't it? Over and over, and over, again. By an amazing number of what most of us would consider "well-informed" people who really ought to know better. Over the years, I've come to the conclusion that some of them really do know the truth, but it is convenient for them to pretend they don't because their acolytes are so fervent in their belief that it is true.
