Reality Check

Occasionally, during a conversation, or in the midst of an on-line exchange, it occurs to me that the answer to any one of these short questions would be a reliable predictor the advisability of continuing:
Do you believe that the United States government planned the terrorist acts of September 11, 2001?

Do you believe that a certain well-known former former-football star murdered his wife on June 12, 1994?

Do you believe that the mass interment of American citizens of Japanese ancestry during World War II was the right thing to do?

Do you believe that those who criticize the critics of a war are suppressing free speech?

Do you believe that those who criticize the conduct of a war are defeatists or traitors?
(Inspired by an Ambivalog post about the virus of fundamentalism)

I didn't name the former football player because, frankly, the less said about him the better, despite his current bid for attention.
