Tax Simplification

Megan McArdle reposts the Jane Galt Tax Plan every April 15. And every April 15, I think it is a marvel of simplicity and logic. It hasn't any hope of ever becoming law, of course.

You're right. The messiah will return before we get sensible tax simplification.

Ed Efelbein calculated what a flat tax to fund the government (including social security, etc.) at 2005 levels would need to be: 31.85% of any amount above $35,725. Fat chance that.
